IMMISem

The emission model IMMISem calculates the traffic emissions of e.g. the air pollutants PM10, PM2.5, NOX, CO, SO2, particle, soot, benzene, CH4, NH3, NO2 (direct emission), CO2 and fuel consumption based on “Handbook emission factors for road transport” (HBEFA) and VDI 3782 Sheet 7.

Basis to calculate emissions

  • emission factors for a selection of relevant road types or traffic conditions in the city (HBEfa)

  • motor vehicle fleets (HBEfa up to the prognosis year 2050)

  • cold start model for three different road properties or road functions, that can be used in any combination with traffic conditions

  • model for the dynamic consideration of level of service (LOS) in traffic flow

Consideration of additional effects

  • consideration of tire wear for soot

  • consideration of the resuspended dust, tire and break wear for PM10 and PM2.5

  • effect of particle filters

  • driving bans for different types of vehicles and concepts (Environmental/Low emission zone)

Street parameters

  • traffic situation as combination of area, road type/function and speed limit

  • Level of Service (LOS) fraction or capacity or number of lanes of the road

  • road gradient

  • average mean daily traffic (MDT)

  • MDT fractions of motorcycles, heavy and light commercial motor vehicles as well as buses

Input dialogs of relevant street parameters

Emission time series

The hourly emission model IMMISem,h can be used to calculate time series of traffic induced emissions based on detailed traffic data or time series.

Interfaces

  • Data and results in dBase-file

  • Integration in GIS (ArcGIS® )

  • Shape- and MIF-export

  • VISUM (traffic modeling), IMMISnet, MISKAM
